Toyobo to open North America site

Japanese company will make PET nonwovens starting in 2016.

Japanese nonwovens producer Toyobo is reportedly opening a facility in North America. The new site, expected to begin operating in 2016, will initially make 6000 tons of polyester nonwovens. The main markets for these nonwovens will be automotives. Toyobo is currently serving the North American automotive market with nonwovens made in Japan.

The company has not announced where the North American plant will be.
